PV440 is a prefabricated waterproofing membrane made of APP-modified bitumen, with a dual-reinforced design: a 100% polyester non-woven, which provides good mechanical strength and good dimensional stability, combined with a second glass fibre reinforcement, which contributes to its thermal stability and resistance to temperature variations. Both faces are coated with a heat-fusible HDPE film, allowing clean and reliable torch-applied installation, with uniform adhesion and good compatibility with the other bituminous membranes of the system.
Versatile, PV440 can be used both as an underlayer and as a protected top layer in multilayer waterproofing systems, in new construction as well as in renovation. It is suited to accessible and non-accessible flat roofs, industrial and commercial buildings, technical terraces, covered car parks, as well as buried structures and wet areas. When used as a top layer, it must be protected from UV radiation by an aluminium paint or by heavy protection (gravel, paving slabs, asphalt).
For optimal adhesion, installation is carried out on a clean, dry and stable substrate, with a suitable bituminous primer, followed by torch welding, taking care to achieve uniform melting of the HDPE film. Laps must be carefully welded, and particular attention must be paid to critical details: upstands, flashings, expansion joints, rainwater outlets and penetrations.
